Access Control and Entry Systems

KeypadAccess control systems

Can be relatively simple with a one-stage speech station reporting to a single telephone handset, which in-turn controls a single door release.

The more complex systems work on a two way speech application and can be expanded using digital technology to incorporate buildings of multiple occupancy with several entry points.

Entry SystemVideo Entry

Video entry systems with two way speech and visual identification can also be used within an access control system.  These video entry systems can be single or multiple application also.

Mechanical or Electronic Coded Entry Mechanical or electronic digital coded entry systems utilising 4 digit access codes can be stand alone or networked.  Coded door entry can be either internal or external with keypads available in various different designs and finishes.

Card Access

Card access systems can be used to control a single door on a stand-alone basis or multiple doors using a network system under PC control.   Software features on a PC controlled system would include 'time and attendance management', 'evacuation reports' and a 'challenge' feature using photo identification.  Site graphics, card management systems and alarm handling are also features of a PC controlled system.  Using a PC controlled system within a large building can even be used to locate members of staff or track visitors throughout the building at a click of a button card access using mag swipe, infrared or proximity cards are be used in the same way as coded access control, controlling entry point into a building.  Card and PIN (personal identification number) together can be used for added security, ideal for high-risk situations.

Door Locks

Wide ranges of door locking devices are available in many different styles and finishes.  Fail safe or fail secure lock releases are used in conjunction with fire alarms to release doors in the event of a fire; these are available to fit most common lock sets.

Shearlocks and solenoid bolts are used to secure double glazed doors or plate glass doors.  Magnetic locks for single or double doors, housed in smart brushed aluminium housings, are available in a range of different finishes.  Slimline, single or double locks give a range of different holding forces for internal and external uses.

Accessories

Push bars, keysafes and emergency brake glasses are used to comply to fire regulations and allow for a fast, effective evacuation of a building in the event of a fire.

Access control systems can be integrated with fire alarms to release doors in the event of a fire or with intruder alarm systems to arm and disarm areas of a building.
